In the foothills of the Himalayas, Lepchakha is a small village, a hidden gem that resides within the ambit of Buxa Tiger Reverse. It is situated at an elevation of 3500 ft located close to the Bhutan Border. This village has a very low amount of population which makes it more beautiful and is scenically blessed that captures the amazing beauty of the surrounding nature. Lepchakha offers an amazing route for adventure seekers, allowing them to trek through the Dooars hills. It is an ideal location for peace-loving and serene seekers. The trial is very rigorous and not for heart patients and aged persons. To reach this village you have to reach Alipurduar then to Santalabari, from where there is no road for the vehicle. You have to trek(from Santalabari to buxa then to Lepchakha) for around one and a half hour through dense Forest. The trekking trail towards Lepchakha is filled with pictorial destination and historical spots. The trekking route is accompanied by the sound of alluring chirping of exotic. Himalayan birds along with the crunching of dried leaves sprawled across the route of the lepchakha trek.
On reaching the high altitude of Lepchakha, the stunning surrounding views will make you fall in awestruck wonder. The variety of greens resting on a hilly bed and the view below the hills is amazing to witness. The cold winds blowing with all their strength at such a high altitude is quite peaceful and tranquil. Not just the Lepchakha hills, the views of the surrounding hilly areas during dawn with all its glow is amazing to witness. The Lepchakha village, a blessed land is a must-visit during the trip to Dooars to witness its terrific beauty. Between October to December, is considered the best time to visit. when the sky remains clear and you can witness the panoramic vista of Dooars region from the hilltop of Lepchakha village.
