In the fairytale Himalayan hamlet of Kolakham(Lava), You will be host by Mr Dipak Rai, a simple humble gentleman, who has retired from farming just to set up his wooden-framed Homestay and open the threshold to the world. Mr Rai lives with his beautiful family besides welcoming all guests with Pahari Hospitality.
The homestay is located at a remote and secluded area, eight km away from the Lava. This place is less populated and can be called as pollutionless which is also an advantage for the flora and fauna growing around the Neora Valley National Park (situated at an arm’s distance from Kolakham village). The less inhabitant and less human interference make the colourful birds and rare birds to fly around freely and as a domino effect to that Kolakham is called as the birdwatchers paradise. Waking up with the continuous songs of the chirping birds is an experience to remember altogether. Moreover, the continuous hide and seek of the white playful patches of clouds in the sky and in the valley will no doubt rejuvenate your mind body and soul. It takes 45 minutes to an hour to reach in Kolakham village through rocky routes of the Neora Valley National Park(as per the government order, the road construction may cause harm to the ecology of the Forest.
